Sagittarian new moon solar eclipse

Sagittarius

14 December 2020’s Sagittarian new moon solar eclipse sets off a busy astrological week that is packed with planetary activity. This lunation is the “New Horizons Eclipse” and it really does offer an opportunity for us all to expand our minds and consider a new way of being. The Sun and Moon are aligned in fiery Sagittarius, the sign of truth, inspiration, freedom and the hope for something better. This is the moment, now more than ever, that we need to put our faith and trust in something higher than ourselves.

New moons are always about new beginnings, it’s the perfect time to start something fresh, plant those new seeds that you want to grow in your life. The Sun and Moon are also close to Mercury today, emphasising strong intuition and broad insights. Venus and Jupiter are also positively connected and as Venus moves into Sagittarius tomorrow we can expect a strong focus on matters of the heart. Saturn moves into Aquarius on Thursday, followed by Jupiter moving into Aquarius on Saturday. This appears to mark the gateway into the Aquarian age, which will bring a shift of consciousness for humanity, bringing peace, tolerance, and emphasising the power of community.

The next astrological event is the Jupiter Saturn conjunction taking place on the day of the winter solstice on the 21st. Although this alignment takes place every twenty years, this one is particularly significant as it occurs in an air element and marks the beginning of a 200 year cycle – more about that next week! Although there is still so much darkness, uncertainty and upheaval in the world, the combination of Sagittarius and Aquarius offer a new dynamic with the promise of inspiration and vision that can change our perspective and show us a more positive way forward.
